Food addictions can lead to obesity and complications such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Unfortunately, when people think about their health as it relates to food, they rarely think about sugar as being one of the core issues.
They think about sugar as an addiction even less. If you are concerned about yourself or a family member, and know or suspect that sugar addiction may be at the core cause of these issues, We’re going to go over some things to consider about what sugar addiction really is. Wendy Humphris, ROHP Since the 1970’s, a new food trend came about with the goal to reduce sugar intake in people. This was believed to be a way for people to more easily manage weight, and the idea was that less sugar means less calories, and of course therefore less weight gain, but is that really the case? After another 30 years of research, science has releases many of the findings, and it looks like things aren’t exactly as they appear. The next few paragraphs will tell you what you need to know about artificial sweeteners.
Do you ever have those days where you can't seem to think straight? It can feel like your brain is actually foggy, and you can't possibly see through the fog to get to your thoughts. Fatigue often accompanies brain fog -- feeling easily irritated, forgetting things or having trouble learning new things, feeling unmotivated, anxious, lacking concentration and even insomnia. The stress of life can cause brain fog to take root, but the good news is you can do a lot to clear the fog in your head.
Even when you begin changing your eating habits for the better, incorporating cleaner foods and better practices, you can still fall victim to the massive carb craving. Sometimes, we attribute these carb cravings to a lousy day at work or a stressful week of deadlines, but carb cravings can also come from physiological imbalances.
I'm certainly no stranger to the occasional urge to rip open a chocolate bar, go through the drive-thru window, or dive into a bag of my favorite chips -- and I'll bet you aren't a stranger to this either. The occasional indulgence isn't anything to be alarmed about, but if you find yourself licking the remnants of these indulgences off your fingers on a more regular basis, you’ll need to practice some control to get in charge of those cravings. The goal here is to be in charge of your cravings, not have them be in charge of you.
We've all had those moments where we waited too long to eat, and we struggle through a blood sugar crash where the hanger settles in and takes over. You could feel lightheaded, shaky, and generally unwell -- so keeping your blood sugar stabilized throughout the day is a great way to have sustained energy, feel vibrant, and keep your body functioning optimally.
