The Whole You
by Wendy Humphris, ROHP Without proper diet, medicine is of no use. With proper diet, there is no use for medicine. – Ayur Veda I know what you're thinking. I'm going to go in for my assessment and "she's going to tell me to take a gazillion pills that will cost a fortune."
Well you may be half right, but hear me out first. I have very strong opinions and rationale for when it comes to supplementation.

Cleansing is the process of cleaning out and reducing the toxic load that currently resides in your body. Because so many toxins hide beyond the bloodstream, the mere action of cleansing brings them out of hiding and dumps them into the bloodstream.
by Wendy Humphris, ROHP I want to tell you a story about my journey along the 'nutritional' path.
Now this may get a little scary and unbelievable at times, so stay with me. I used to be a junk food and sugar addict! But in hindsight, I don't really think it was my fault! I just didn't know any better. I was never taught about proper nutrition in my 'home-ec' class in high school. Nothing really beyond the big 3 macros - protein, carbohydrates and the 'dreaded' fats (remember it was the 80's). Even when I went into nursing, they never really touched on the importance of proper nutrition for health. They basically taught us how to look after sick people. I know what you're thinking, but Wendy, that's what nurses do! Yes I know, but somehow deep in my guts it just didn't make sense. by Wendy Humphris, ROHP Calcium is the most abundant mineral in our body and is essential for the formation of bones, the prevention of osteoporosis, for nerve transmission, blood clotting and pain relief from exercise.
Most people receive their calcium through the consumption of dairy products, but dairy can be very hard to digest. The rise of lactose (protein found in dairy) intolerant people is testament to this fact. So how do we get enough calcium into our diet without dairy? Easy... During the warm summer months, nothing is as enjoyable as an outdoor run in the sunshine, taking a dip in the local pool or rolling out your yoga mat in your favorite local park. But when that Winter wind starts blowing and temperatures drop, we have to get creative and intentional about indoor workouts to get us through the cold months. Depending on where you live in the world, you may still have a bit of time left for outdoor workouts before it’s too cold. But for those of you who are ready to start your indoor workouts, let’s go over some ideas!
By Lynne Hinton, RNCP & Marlene Marshall, RNCP Live blood analysis differs from traditional medical blood testing in which preserved blood is sent to a laboratory for an "autopsy" and analyzed for chemical composition and cell counts.
Do you skip breakfast in the mornings?
When you feel overwhelmed by your schedule, and you’re constantly racing from one appointment to the next, it’s an incredibly popular decision to skip breakfast entirely. Mornings truly can be a race that we feel like we’re constantly losing, so I understand the reasoning behind feeling like there’s no time to have a breakfast. Even when you think you’re doing everything “right” — you could still be doing something that’s sabotaging your goals. With the slew of “diets” out there that leave us entirely confused, it can be hard to discern what the correct steps to take are to actually reach your health goals. I totally get it, it’s a difficult road to be on.
Do you faithfully begin your day with a cup of coffee? Statistics say over 2 billion cups of coffee are consumed worldwide each day, so chances are, you're a coffee drinker. Sometimes it feels like the only way to add some pep in your step is to fill up your mug with some fresh coffee, doesn't it?
